Domestic Violence Counseliing for victims
The world health organisation declared COVID-19 as a pandemic on March 11,
2020 causing huge impact on people’s lives, families and communities.
As the nation struggles with the spread of COVID-19, people in the UK are being told
to go home and stay there, for their safety and everyone else’s.
But for victims and survivors of domestic violence, including children exposed to it,
being home may not be a safe option — and the unprecedented stress of the pandemic
could breed unsafety in homes where violence may not have been an issue before.
God Mission Church is providing support to the victims and surviors of domestic violence through
personal counselling via phone interaction on any issue that may be a burden
so that we can prevent them from developing mental health issues.
We are also providing Access to medical appointment for vulnerable people.
We will provide transportation for them to attend essential hospital appointments,
thus ensuring that their mental health is taken care of.
Counselling for the children of domestic violence victims
Many children exposed to violence in the home are also victims of physical
abuse. Children who witness domestic violence or are victims of abuse
themselves are at serious risk for long-term physical and mental health problems.
Children who witness violence between parents may also be at greater risk of
being violent in their future relationships.
If you are a parent who is experiencing abuse,
it can be difficult to know how to protect your child.
God Mission Church is providing counselling to these childen to help them
overcome the harmful effects of such domestic violence.
